Naim Qassem Threatens: We Will Not Allow Anyone to Disarm Us

Follow-up – Al-Sabah Al-Jadeed:The Secretary-General of Lebanon’s “Hezbollah,” Naim Qassem, rejected the idea of handing over the party’s weapons to the Lebanese state, saying:“Hezbollah will not allow anyone to disarm it and will confront anyone who demands that. The resistance in Lebanon is a response to Israel’s occupation of Lebanese territory.”He stressed:“Anyone calling for the disarmament of the resistance by force is offering a free service to the Israeli enemy. Their goal is to sow discord between the resistance and the Lebanese army—but that will not happen.”He added:“We will confront anyone who attacks the resistance or wants to disarm us. We advise everyone not to play this dangerous game with us.”Qassem also said:“When we are called to dialogue, we are ready—but not under occupation or aggression. Israel must withdraw and stop its attacks, and the Lebanese state must begin the process of reconstruction. That will be an important step toward entering discussions about a national defense strategy.”Finally, he warned Israel against continuing its attacks on Lebanon, affirming:“Our party is not weak; we have options, and if the aggression does not stop, we will respond at the appropriate time.”
