Iraq Launches a Plan to Attract Global Tourism Companies
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani said that Iraq is developing its infrastructure in preparation for hosting global tourism companies.On Thursday, the Prime Minister received the Chairman of the international “Rixos” hotel group, Fettah Tamince, to discuss investment opportunities in Iraq’s tourism sector.The Prime Minister emphasized that Iraq's ongoing development and reconstruction efforts in various fields have created numerous investment opportunities.He stressed the government's interest in advancing the tourism sector within a secure and attractive investment environment supported by significant reforms.He explained that the government's focus on infrastructure development in Baghdad and other provinces aims to prepare for the arrival of global tourism companies seeking to establish their projects in Iraq.He pointed out that Iraq possesses archaeological, religious, and cultural sites that qualify it to make significant progress and become an attractive tourist destination for specialized companies in the tourism sector.Tamince presented the activities of the Rixos Group in Iraq and shared updates about its ongoing projects in Iraq, as well as details about the group’s projects in 22 countries.
